Nomination Application Process

2017 Teacher of the Year nominations/applications are due on May 5, 2017 at 11:59 p.m. 

A written Nomination Portfolio may come from a candidate or a nomination may be submitted by a colleague.

The Nomination Portfolio must include:

  • Educational History
  • Professional Development Activities
  • Professional Biography
  • Community Involvement
  • Philosophy of Teaching
  • Educational Trends and Issues of particular interest
  • Letter(s) of Support for applicant
  • Contact information for candidate (email and cell phone)

Although not required, nominators or candidates may attach additional supporting material, such as, examples of teacher’s writing, student work samples, or any other examples of how the teacher has impacted student learning.

Entire application, including supporting materials should NOT exceed 15 pages. 

Please review the Selection Criteria. Use the Selection Criteria description as a guide for responding to each criterion. Note the points for each component of the Nomination Portfolio.

Material should be typed and double-spaced.
